The Italian bar is a very site-specific being. It's neither a coffee bar as one finds elsewhere nor is it a pub, but it sells both coffee and beer. Sometimes the coffee isn’t particularly good, but people go anyway. It will have one, slightly horrible, loo which may involve negotiating a rickety spiral staircase, crates of beer, and the grime of decades. It’s best not to think about the grime too much.
