Hello! My name is Agnes Crawford and I’m originally from London. I have lived in Rome for twenty-four years, and have worked as a guide in the city for twenty-three. I am proud to be fully licensed as a professional guide by the quondam Province of Rome, and am also authorised to lead tours in the Vatican Museums. You can find information about my tours at understandingrome.com, and I’m also active on Twitter and Instagram.
I graduated with an MA (Hons) in Architectural History from the University of Edinburgh in the last year of the last millennium, came to Rome for a bit, and stayed. I’ve also written for countless guidebooks to the city (including Time Out, National Geographic, Rough Guide, & Frommer’s), and after over a decade of blogging about Rome I started this newsletter as a sort of self-assembly guide to what I think is the most intriguing city in the world. I hope you like it. If there’s something you’d like me to talk about here please let me know in the comments!
Many thanks, Agnes
