Just imagine, Margaret Atwood's substack is free and much more interesting than yours.

I admired Berlinguer who has proven to be unreplaceable, and I love Venditti but I don't need to pay you to watch Youtube. Also if you think you are illustrating the political landscape in our wonderful city, why is Gualtieri our mayor?

I’m a little perplexed, you described this as a podcast, it wasn’t a podcast it was a free post (most are paywalled but not this one) about a song because it was the first of May. So there’s a video of the song, and a video showing the event to which it alludes. As well as a short description and a translation for those who are interested. My last podcast was written and recorded by me, with several photos, and was about Nero’s Golden House. Subscription includes access to all previous posts and podcasts. Feel free to unsubscribe if you so wish. It is, happily, a free country.

It is certainly not for this kind of podcast that I subscribed. Please make sure my subscription is not renewed when it expires.

I’m not sure to what you object? This brief post refers in a purely objective manner to events of recent history which are fundamental to the understanding of the Italian political landscape, and by extension the country and its capital. The 1 May 2020 concert in which one Italy’s most mainstream popular singers sang this song was televised by the RAI. It really couldn’t be much less controversial. If you’d like to cancel your subscription you can do that directly through Substack, they deal with the admin (& take a percentage to do so). Regards, Agnes
